Yesterday Max and I hit Whitewater. It’s like a little piece of ski heaven. We woke up bright an early to a cloudy, snowflake-filled sky. I came downstairs for breakfast, Max was already awake and the first things he said to me were, “We picked a sick day to go skiing, gonna be a powder day kiddo.” . . .
Seriously. Mom’s just cook the best food. German food is generally not the healthiest – full of butter, meat, cheese, and all those good things. The fam jam tries to be pretty healthy, but sometimes good ol’ German cooking is necessary. Here are some eats since I have been home. SOUP! Mama makes the best . . .
We Made It! Max and I left Victoria early Saturday morning. Super early. We were on the 7 am ferry to the mainland, and although it was early, it was super nice! I haven’t taken the ferry since this summer and for some reason it always brings back a very familiar-homey feeling. In total it took us . . .
Happy Valentine’s Day! Hope your day is chocolate-filled! Clearly thats the most important part of Valentines Day, the chocolate. Or is that only the norm for single people? That wasn’t my breakfast btw. I wish it was, but it wasn’t. This was In this bowl: banana, avocado, spinach, berries, cocoa powder, ground flaxseeds, and almond . . .
Decided to try something new tonight. First, Max and I did a lil’ grocery shop (that’s nothing new). Real Men Carry Confetti Grocery Bags. And he does it so well Love him. And this past weekend, Amy and I stopped at Dan’s Farm which neither of us had been at since our little incident in August. Anyways, I bought beets and squash . . .
Today marked BC’s first ever family day!! My day started off fairly ordinary. Had a smoothie. These are recycled photos, but that’s pretty much what it looked like. Shortly afterwards I met Amy downtown for a little girl time and retail therapy. Who doesn’t love that?! We also went to Rogers Chocolates and got dark chocolate sea . . .
I didn’t brush my hair today. Why? Because its Sunday and I didn’t feel like it. Brushing my hair is actually a pet peeve of mine. I wish I didn’t have to, EVER. My morning started off early. Earrrrrrlyyyy. I wasn’t meeting Amy to run until 7, but for some reason, regardless of how early . . .
Running is a funny thing. You do it, you feel great (usually). You don’t do it and you feel crappy (not always). It’s the strangest feeling but when I am running a lot and/or training I feel like myself. I was in a serious running rut which lasted about, oh I dunno, 3 months? It’s not that . . .
Instead of hitting the pavement this morning, Amy and I met up at the gym at 630am. I haven’t ran on a treadmill in ages, but it was actually kinda nice! I loved plugging in the ol’ ipod, zoning out, and just running. We also did hills today and I didn’t hate them as much . . .
I had quite the random weekend. Not random as in, “Heck yes, Imma book a trip to Vegas today and get there tomorrow” but more like, “Well, didn’t think I’d do that today.” Oh man, that sounds more lame than I expected, but nevertheless that’s how my weekend was! First thing that happened: I got . . .
